Baked Oatmeal Recipe

Breakfast is undoubtedly my favorite meal of the day. I always make it my mission to eat something nutritious that will set me going for the day and this recipe is perfect for that.

This is a recipe I've been meaning to try for ages. After seeing numerous versions of it all through my Instagram feed I decided to look it up and give it a go. I took the basis of the recipe from a blogger called The Healthy Chef, but decided to make it my own by using different fruit and taking on a bit of a lazy guesstimation method HAHA. This recipe was seriously so quick and easy to make. As well as working for a delicious brekky, the crumble-like consistency also makes it a great dessert option in my opinion.

February

Yet another late monthly post - whoops! February has been yet another busy month for yours truly! This month saw semester two in full swing. I'm working hard to keep up with reading and essays this semester so that when it comes to final essays/exams i actually know what I'm doing. HOWEVER, this month hasn't been all work, there's also been a lot of play.

Uni fuel.

Moving out and looking after yourself for the first time is hard, right? Cooking and cleaning for yourself along with juggling 9-5 uni and Netflix binges can seem difficult at times. But now you're thrown out into the big wide world without Mum's cooking to come home to every night. I've always been into my food. I'm not a fussy eater, never have been, never will be. But when it came down to considering what I was going to fuel myself with at Uni I gave it some great thought. It's really important to me to look after my body and get all the nutrients I really need, (or at least try). However, i'm a student and I needed to figure out a way of eating well without breaking the bank. Here's what i've learnt so far:

January

Ok so this is kinda late and should have been posted a month ago - whoops! Despite this i'm still going to post it because I'm adamant to do one of these round-ups every month - or at least try!

The end of Christmas saw us students catapulted into revision and new semester madness. January was filled with Uni mayhem, with the exam period stretching throughout most of it.  I love my course though and Uni work never seems that much of a chore. At least that's what I told myself amidst the last minute revision crams. It was also bitterly cold up North, with my hometown experiencing some snow - this i'm very jealous of. One of the above pictures is one my Mum sent me of our beautiful collie Billy sat in wintery prettiness. Amid revision I made it an aim to have breaks and enjoy myself. One of these breaks included a meal out with flatmates and a very delicious sticky toffee pudding. I'm also continuing to explore what the city has to offer breakfast-wise. If you couldn't tell by now it's definitely my favourite meal.

Winter Skin Saviours

I appear to have taken a little hiatus due to January exams but they're nearly over and I'm getting back into writing posts. I decided it would be a good idea to talk about how I tackle winter skin. Up here in Northern England it is freeeeeeezing at this time of year - we've even experienced snow! Though I do admit i enjoy winter, it definitely takes it's toll on my skin.

December

So, 2015 is over and we welcome in 2016. 2015's closing month has been a long and exciting one. From my birthday celebrations to festive togetherness with friends and family this has been a great end to an eventful year.

As always, this month has been one of dressing up and hitting the town. Flats have been my new go-to shoe, especially pointed lace-ups. I lusted after a pair when they first hit the shops a few months back and finally settled on this pair shown above from ASOS. They're my ultimate faves for going out because they are just so darn comfy and easy to wear. This pair are also patent which makes life so easy. I cannot even begin to talk about the spilt drinks and sticky dancefloors that have resulted in the end of the road for many a pair of my shoes. Now I can just wipe these clean and they're like new. Genius! As well as convenience I'm also really into the way these shoes will go with practically everything. I really like the stylish touch they give to whatever I'm wearing and It's safe to say I am obsessed.

Adidas Stan Smiths.

Stan Smiths; a classic in the world of shoes. These babies are my new found obsession. Since starting University, the need for sensible shoes became apparent to me so I decided to invest in a pair of these bad boys.

Trainers never used to be a big thing for me. I saw them as solely a fitness necessity until one day I had an epiphany and purchased a pair of black Nike trainers for casual day-to-day wear. It's fair to say that pair of trainers are my most loved and most worn shoes.
